A group buy occurs when individual buyers place an order together to get a quantity discount.
-
GotoGroupBuy is 100% FREE to use.
-
Yes! You don't have to be a seller to post group buys. Just like 'wanted ads', you can post what you're looking for and sellers come to you.
-
The seller handles payments when a group buy is completed. GotoGroupBuy does provide help with the payment process using Paypal. Using this option, GotoGroupBuy can collect deposits and balance payments for the seller. These payments go directly to the seller's Paypal account.
-
No. After a seller registers, he may immediately start posting group buys.
-
No. GotoGroupBuy does not sell items. We simply manage the “group buying process” from beginning to end.
-
Sellers handle all returns.
-
When you post your group buy:
- Click the 'Use PayPal for Payments?'check box
- Enter your PayPal Email information.
- If you want to require a deposit for this group buy, enter a deposit amount.
After you post your group buy, you'll be able to accept PayPal payments for this group buy. You can also set your PayPal Email in your 'My Account' settings if you would like to use the same PayPal Email for all of your group buys.
-
Interested buyers don't want to commit to buying yet, but still want to stay informed on updates to the group buy (e.g. discussions messages posted, new buyers joining etc). Interested buyers MUST convert to Committed before they are included in the group deal.
-
Committed buyers are committed to buying and fully agree to the terms of the group buy. Once you are committed you may not remove yourself from the group buy. If the Group Buy expires before the number of Committed Buyers is met, the deal does not go through and any deposits paid will be refunded.
-
A seller has to be invited by the original poster before he/she may take over a group buy. Here are the steps the original poster must perform:
- Login to GotoGroupBuy.com
- Go to the group buy's page.
- Click the Invite Seller button.
- Fill out the seller's contact information and send the invitation.
If the seller accepts the invitation, he will then submit a proposal that the original poster will need to accept. Once this happens, the group buy will be transferred over to the seller.
-
Here's how to join a Group Buy:
- Go to the Group Buy you want to join.
- Click on the Join Group Buy button.
- Choose to join as Committed or Interested. If joining as Committed, the seller may require a deposit. If so, you will be sent to PayPal to pay a deposit.
- Once the seller receives the deposit, PayPal notifies GotoGroupBuy.com.
- GotoGroupBuy.com then adds you to the Committed list.
-
This is because your PayPal deposit has not cleared yet. We move you to the Committed list after we receive a notification from PayPal that your deposit has cleared. Sometimes this takes a few days if your PayPal account is linked to a bank account as opposed to a credit card, which usually clears instantly.
-
If the Paypal option is not used, the seller for the group buy will email you to finalize payment, shipping etc. If it is, you will receive an email indicating when you can login to GotoGroupBuy to initiate a Paypal payment to the seller.
-
The seller will refund any deposits within 48 hours and no transaction takes place.
-
The seller has the option of proceeding anyways and offering the discounted group buy price to those committed buyers joined, even if there are fewer buyers than needed.
-
You will never pay a higher price than the advertised group buy price even if there aren't enough committed buyers. At worse, if there aren't enough committed buyers when the group buy expires, you will get your deposit back (if any was paid) and no transaction occurs.
-
We know how tedious the group buying process can be and thats why GotoGroupBuy exists. We aim to automate as much of the process as possible for as many people as possible. We will never charge any fees to our buyers or sellers. We do not receive any incentives or 'kick backs' from sellers for helping them sell their products.
-
You can help us by spreading the word to your friends and family about us. The more people that know about us, the more group buys there will be, the more money buyers will save, and the more items sellers will sell. Its a win-win situation.
